BWHA will be running a Mid-Week Social Hockey Programs in Terms throughout the 2024 calendar year. This program will be open to new, returning and seasoned hockey players with the program being about inclusion, fun and fitness.
Venue: Brisbane North Hockey Centre (Burringbar Park – Kittyhawk Drive, Chermside)
Time: 9.30am to 11.00am, arrive by 9.15am to be placed in teams
Dates: Term 1 will be 3 week program – Thursday 14, 21 & 28 March 2024
Cost: Player must pay and register prior to attending. There will be no free or make-up sessions. Each term will have payment details advertised with the registration form.

What to Bring: 1 white & 1 black shirt, hockey stick, shin guards, and other personal protective equipment. Players can wear any coloured pant/skirt and socks and should bring a water bottle and encouraged to wear sunscreen.
Rules:
- Full Field game of hockey with 2 even number of teams
- Goal Keepers optional
- No umpires required – honesty system
- All normal rules of senior hockey apply except for pushing only on penalty corners with a goal keeper, or long corners only if no goal keeper on a team

Hockey provides so many great experiences for female participants; it improves health and fitness and helps relieve stress by being active and playing sport with others.
BWHA offers Senior Women Grass fixtures for ages 14+ years played from March to September every Saturday afternoon at one location – Downey Park, Windsor.
Games are 70 minutes in length (2 x 35 minute halves) and played in 3 timeslots each week (12:30pm, 2:00pm & 3:30pm) across 10 fields – making it convenient to plan around work, family and social commitments. Many players enjoy the Grass competiton as it allows them to play with their mum, sister, friends and colleagues and enjoy the canteen and bar facilities post-game.
