2026 U18 Representative Program Details

Age & Eligibility Requirements for Selection Group

• Must be a Full-Time Primary Registered BWHA Member.
• Age Group: U18 players must be born in 2008 or 2009 (turning 17 or 18 in 2026).

Queensland U16 1 Selected Players (Special Eligibility)

• Players turning 16 in 2026 and selected for the Queensland U16 1 team in 2026 can nominate for either the U16 or U18 BWHA representative trials.
• Players may only participate in one Junior Hockey Queensland State Championship for BWHA in 2026.

Tournament Dates

• U18 Southern Cross: Sunday 29th March (Sunshine Coast)
• U18 State Championships: 15 May - 17 May 2026 (Toowoomba) 

Costs

• Trial Nomination Fee: $65 per person
• Tournament Fee for Selected Players: $375 per player 

Self Organised Travel and Accommodation

To prioritise player safety, especially in relation to underage members, athletes are required to self-organise their accommodation to help ensure they are in a safe environment and allow for adequate supervision. It also allows families to choose accommodation that suits their budget and, where possible, enables athletes to stay with relatives. This can help ease the financial burden often associated with representative tournaments.

Trial Dates

• Trial 1: Sunday, 22nd February — 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

• Trial 2: Sunday, 1st March — 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Training for Selected Players

• Sunday, 15th March
• Sunday, 22nd March
• Sunday, 26 April
• Sunday 3 May 
• Sunday 10 May

First Aid At Trials

BWHA does not have a designated first aid officer at trials in order to help reduce costs. However, the BWHA staff member is qualified in first aid. Players should approach them immediately if any assistance is needed.
