BWHA WINTER FIXTURE COMPETITIONS
BWHA have the following competitions for players of all ages to compete in from March to September each year:
Senior Turf Teams:
Saturday afternoons – Premier League 1, 2, 3 & 4
Sunday afternoons – Metro League 1, 2 & 3
Senior Grass Teams:
Saturday afternoons at Downey Park
DP 1, 2, 3, 4
COMPETITION AGE GROUPS IN 2024:
Hockey Queensland and Hockey Australia are changing their Representative age groups in 2024. BWHA has therefore decided to move our junior competition age groups to the following.

- Rookie Grass Hockey: U9 – half field and U7- quarter field (unchanged)
- U10 – Full field grass (aimed at players 8 to 10 who are ready for full field hockey)
- U12 – Full field grass (Turf competition only if turf is available). Noting the U11 Southern Cross Tournament on grass will change to U12 on grass.
- U14 – Full field grass and turf competitions (for player 13 to 14 years)
- J (U18) Full field grass and turf competitions (for players 15 to 18 years).
