BWHA is pleased to announce the appointment of Regie Fisher to the new Member Development Manager (MDM) position.
This position will lead a new direction for BWHA embracing the needs of all members of our association. The elite development area will be looked after by the extensive high level coach and umpire network within BWHA with the MDM co-ordinating the programs and resources. More resources will be developed to work with the grass roots level of our association and to increase participation and education for players, coaches and umpires. The new direction is based on the philosophy of providing opportunities for all members of our association to reach their full potential. We believe Regie will bring a strong network of contacts as well as a unique excitement and enthusiasm to this position.
To complete our restructure of the Development department, Amy Ryan will be welcomed as the new BWHA Development Officer (DO). This position has also evolved to include the development of not only players, and coaches but to give a significant focus on umpire development at the grass roots level, we will be looking to offer clubs support to grow their umpire numbers and skill levels. Amy will continue with the traditional development of players through schools, outside school, hooked in2 hockey and other participation programs, but will provide a fresh approach to umpire development, working to support and create a supportive environment for them.
